DBPR APPLICATION FEES REDUCED

Today is September 1st, which means that a few of the DBPR application fees have been reduced. You’re probably wondering, did the State fee for my application change?

If you are applying for one of the following applications with the Construction Industry Licensing Board in the CERTIFIED category, please note that effective today, your application fee has been reduced.

  • Initial Issuance of most certified licenses (from $249 to $149)
  • Initial Issuance of Specialty Pool licenses (from $209 to $109)
  • Qualifying an Additional Business Entity (from $209 to $109)
  • Change of Status from Inactive to Active (from $309 to $250)

* these prices are all for those qualifying businesses.

The fees are reduced for these applications if you are a certified contractor with the DBPR as the renewal date of your newly issued or activated license will be due in less than a year.

Certified contractors with the DBPR are required to renew their license by August 31stevery two years in even numbered years. Registered contractors are required to renew their license every two years in odd number years.

Also, please don’t forget to renew your certified licenses by 08/31/2016, or the license will enter a Delinquent, Active status for 2 years. If the license has not been renewed by the following renewal date, your certified license will become null and void. Null and void means you have to start all over again, retest and reapply. It is better to go inactive until you wish to qualify a business.
