LAST CALL TO RENEW LICENSE!

Here are three simple steps to ensure proper renewal:

1)  Continuing Education – Typically contractors need to complete 14 hours board-approved continuing education every 2 years by 8/31 of an even numbered year. The only exceptions to this rule are:

  • Inactive licensees do not need to do CEs until they wish to renew.
  • Licensees who have been licensed more than 1 year, but less than 2 at the time of renewal (8/31/2016) only need to do 7 hours. This is based on date of issuance.
  • Licensees who have been licensed less than 1 year do not have to do continuing ed. This is based on date of issuance.

2)  Pay Renewal – This can be done with by check through the mail or online:

  • The stub that the state sends can be returned with a check, but make sure the boxes are not marked unless:
    • First box: You wish to update your address.
    • Second box: You want to INACTIVATE your license.

If nether is the case, leave these boxes blank

3)  MAKE SURE IT UPDATES – This may be the one that most people forget to do. Too often we speak with licensees whose license has gone delinquent or worse the dreaded Null & Void. A common theme is that they thought the license was in good standing. Double check the status of your license online until you see the new expiration date become 8/31/2018
