DBPR Application Fees Reduced

Starting September 1, 2017, the DBPR application fees will be reduced from $249 to $149. Most certified licenses applied for through the Construction Industry Licensing Board have been reduced at this time because it will be the second half of a renewal period. When issued the renewal date of your new license will be due in less than a year.

All licenses renewals occur on 8/31 on every even numbered year. If you don’t renew your certified license by this time, your license will enter a Delinquent, Active status for 2 years. If your license has not been renewed by the following renewal date, your certified license will become null and void. If your certified license becomes null and void, you will have to start from the beginning, taking tests again, and reapply for this license.

The fee will increase again May 1st, 2018. This is because at that time the license will be issued with an expiration date of August 31st, 2020.  Certified contractors are required by the DBPR to renew their license every two years in even number years, while registered contractors must renew their license every two years in odd numbers years.
