Reminder: Annual Report Filing Is Coming Up

Happy Holidays from everyone here at LicensesETC.  With the new year upon us, there are many things that you may want to tackle as you continue your Florida Contractor business into 2023.  But in all of those great new ideas, you can’t forget some of the yearly action items for your Florida business.

We want to remind our contractors that they must file their annual report with the IRS by May 1st of 2023. If they fail to do so, they will be charged a late fee of $400. Failure to do so could lead to the dissolution of your business.  As you may or may not know, many customers will look up your business online to see if you are a valid business and one of the things they look for is your business registration with the state.  Many independent contractors tend to forget about this or feel it is not important.  We urge all of our contractors to not make this mistake.

This time of year, the Secretary of State of Florida informs businesses about their annual reports. However, there are various scams that are attempting to trick people into filing their annual minutes. The Secretary of State does not require companies to file minutes. Instead, they can complete them in-house.

Be aware of this scam.  It tells you there will be a $125 fee if you do not submit your annual minutes. Do not reply to this notice – it is fake!

Your annual report must be filed every year with the Florida Secretary of State to remain a current and active business.
