REMINDER: GEORGIA CONTRACTOR LICENSE RENEWAL

Here at Licenses, Etc., we wanted to let people know that if you are a residential basic, residential light commercial or general contractor in Georgia, your license needed to be renewed by June 30, 2016. If you did not renew by the 30th, you are now past due and a late fee will be imposed to bring the expired license back into compliance.

The law in Georgia prohibits residential and general contractors from conducting unlicensed practice, such as practicing with an expired license, in the state.

Secretary of State Brian Kemp stated that the contractor renewal process is now streamlined so that licenses are able to be renewed faster than ever before through the Professional Licensing Board’s website before June 30.

To renew your Georgia residential or general contractor professional license, visit the Professional Licensing Board’s website to complete the process. The site offers step-by-step instructions to help with renewal. Once payment has been submitted and the renewal has been verified, a person can print his or her receipt and professional license. If you have been selected for an audit, you will have to submit continuing education documents.

If you need help with the license renewal on the Professional Licensing Board’s website, you can contact the Professional Licensing Boards Division by calling them at 478-207-2400 or emailing them here.
