DBPR Starts Fee Waiver Program

The Department of Business & Professional Regulation (DBPR) has introduced the Fee Waiver Program under House Bill 615. The DBPR can now waive the initial licensing feel for low income individuals who apply for s state professional license; this program went into effect on July 1, 2017.

To qualify for this fee waiver, an applicant must:

  • Show that his/her annual income is at or below 130 percent of the federal property guidelines relative to their family’s household size by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
  • The income shown is the amount before taxes.
