NATURAL DISASTER PREPAREDNESS

We’re in the midst of hurricane season here in Florida. When Mother Nature is about to strike, it’s important to prepare for any potential damage that may occur. At Licenses, Etc., we wanted to share with you some information that the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) released to remind Floridians, both residents and businesses, to create a comprehensive disaster preparedness plan. It’s important to assess the needs of yourself, your family, your loved ones, and your business in the event that a hurricane or tropical storm hits and causes problems.

In an event of a natural disaster like a hurricane, the DBPR suggests people should refer to the follow state and DBPR resources to assist them:

  • FLGetaPlan.com – At this site, you can create a specialized disaster plan for your family and/or business.
  • flvbeoc.org – On this site, businesses can register to access information and updates, and report damage from a storm.
  • floridadisaster.org/publicmapping — This site allows you to find your evacuation zone.
  • FloridaDisaster.org – The Florida Division of Emergency Management’s webpages allows you to access tips, storm updates, and other resources.

  • myfloridalicense.com – If a person wants to verify someone’s license with the DBPR, they can visit this site, call 850-487-1395, or download the DBPR mobile app.
